We can’t believe it’s already July! Catch CGTS this Friday at the Replay Lounge’s Independence Day celebration before you head toward the Kaw River to watch Lawrence’s fireworks display. We are gearing up for our first Colorado tour (ending in Taos, New Mexico) at the end of the month, and sneaking into the studio to record some of this abundant 2014 music juju throughout the next several weeks. Hope ya’ll enjoy browsing the updated website, we’ve added new media and show listings. Cowgirl up!
What an honor it was to share our music with tons of great people in the mountains of Arkansas at Wakarusa! We left our hearts out on the ground of the Backwoods Stage and the Riverside Stage and partied with everybody else the rest of the weekend. It truly was a milestone to reach and yet it has lit the fire under us – we are ready to show the world what CGTS is all about. One last thanks to Pipeline, the workers and volunteers and vendors and bands that made Wakarusa happen, and most importantly the fans that sent us there and saw us perform! We won’t forget this but the past is the past, and we are in love with the future. Catch us this weekend for 2 sets at Love Fest (www.lovefestinthemidwest.com) outside of Omaha, or at one of our other shows posted on this site. So many things are in the making right now, stay tuned for more.
Take care of yourselves, and others. CGTS out.
It’s been a while since the last update, so here goes. First on the docket: we are making a music video! It’s still in the preproduction stages, but be on the lookout this summer. Speaking of this summer, we’ve added new show dates – highlights include the MO chainsaw grassacre mini tour and a late July tour. Add this to the existing awesomeness – Wakarusa, Love Fest, Festy Fest, String Break, and others – and we have got quite the summer ahead of us! Meanwhile, all of us are hard at work writing songs. I just had mega déjà vu. Whoa. Anyway…yes, the songwriters are songwriting, and the new stuff is our best stuff yet! We’ll be recording it possibly later this year, but come to a show and hear some sneak previews….In the short term, get at us on Friday at Lucky’s (apr 11), ICT. And lovely LFK, you are up Friday April 18.
Take care of yourselves, and make positive contributions to the world. CGTS out.
We’ve finally made an official YouTube channel! Here you’ll be able to see/hear 5 FULL tracks off of our album! In the future it will be flooded with other songs, live shows, practice quips, and general baffoonery. Keep posted.

Big thanks to everyone who came out last month and made our album release party a huge success. If you still want a copy, email us at email@example.com or you can find it on iTunes, CD Baby, etc. We’ve added new shows that are coming, starting with the Jazzhaus tomorrow here in Ltown. We also have Wichita, Tulsa, and KC on the docket in the coming months. If there is anywhere you would like to see us, give us a holler! As today is Thanksgiving, all of us here in CGTS would like to wish you to have a happy one wherever you are, be thankful for what you’ve got, and eat lots of turkey!
Welcome to the official Cowgirl’s Train Set website! There are a number of announcements to make. Most importantly, we will be (officially) releasing our debut album BASTARDS AND BROKEN THINGS and hosting a masquerade ball on Thursday, Oct. 13th at the Bottleneck here in Lawrence with our friends 40 Watt Dreams and Tyler Gregory. We recorded the album with Mike West in his Ninth Ward Pickin’ Parlor, and he and his wife Katie will be supporting us that night in Katie’s new band, 40 Watt Dreams. Tyler Gregory is also a good friend and we love playing shows with him. You can find the Facebook event here, and an excellent review of the album by David Ugarte here. Finally, we are promoting the album by appearing on the Farmer’s Turnpike radio program (92.9 FM Lawrence, KS) at 8 pm on Sunday, October 6th.
Other than that, thanks for visiting the website!
